How to add a server password

Adding a password to the server

In order to set a password for your Space Engineers server, you can do the following:

1) Open a support ticket

2) Ask to get a password set for the service, include the password.

3) We will then provide you with a salt and hash

4) You then paste this salt and hash into your server configuration files, replacing your current salt and hash

Alternatively, you can set your own password yourself, this can be achieved by doing the following:

1) Download the Space Engineers Dedicated Server tool

2) Run it

3) click "Run as Admin" if the button pops up

4) select local / console then click "Continue to server configuration"

5) In the "password" field, input your desired password

6) Now click save, after this click the edit button next to save

7) This should open a notepad, find the following two lines:

 <ServerPasswordHash>z5dXWHuN6eheu9x+Hf8yEyUG71U=</ServerPasswordHash>
  <ServerPasswordSalt>/NEiQKDQVNvBEnp27Izvjw==</ServerPasswordSalt>

Paste these values into your server configuration file

It will be a different key depending on your password.
